Tura, Oct 28: The 4th edition of the Meghalaya State League (MSL) began its opening match of Group A matches at Chandmari Football Turf in Tura on Monday, with Chipakkore FC and Atong Matgrik FC battling to a goalless draw.
Both teams held their ground during the 90-minute game, sharing a point each.
The match was attended by several dignitaries, including Manish Kumar, SDO (Sardar) of West Garo Hills; District Sports Officer, Saljagring M. Marak and Jasper P Marak, Retired Deputy Director of Sports and Youth Affairs for Meghalaya, along with other District Football Association members.
Group A consists of four teams — Chipakkore FC (Tura), Atong Matgrik FC (Baghmara), Pinggera Do•Gisik (Resu), and Lumsohkhlur S&SC (Mairang).
The next match will see Pinggera Do•Gisik take on Lumsohkhlur S&SC on October 30 at 2 p.m. at the same venue.
