Tura Mar 9: A cleaning drive was conducted by Tura Municipal Board (TMB) under My City Campaign on Saturday, at various locations within the Tura Municipal area.
Under the aegis of District Administration day one of the campaign, the TMB personnel carried out the cleaning drive starting from Araimile junction, Hawakhana junction, Ringrey junction, Chandmary junction, A.Dinggre and concluded the cleaning drive at Gandrak Dare.
The office staff and field staff of the Tura Municipal Board cleaned the areas wearing safety gloves and masks, garbage vehicles were used for thrash collection a mobile water tank was used to replenish the trees and plants in those areas.
This ‘My City Campaign’ is the continuation and expansion of the earlier ‘Locality Beautification and Enhancement’ program and it is an initiative which fosters community participation in tackling challenges posed by urbanization, improving the service delivery, and building vibrate and sustainable cities for all.
As part of the campaign, the administrations will mandatorily conduct one day cleaning drive every quarter with active collaboration and participation from the local communities. This initiative aligns with the vision of the Chief Minister to make the cities and towns among the cleanest in the country.
Speaking to Hub, Rikse R Marak, CEO of Tura Municipal Board, said, ‘We will have a meeting with the ADCs and further discuss on the guidelines and convey the vision with Chief Minister.’
