Shillong, Nov 20: Naba Bhattacharjee, President of the Meghalaya Cricket Association, has been appointed Manager of the Indian Senior Women’s Cricket Team for their upcoming ODI series against Australia. The matches are scheduled as follows: the first and second ODIs will take place in Brisbane on December 4 and 7, while the third ODI is set for December 10 in Perth. This series is part of the ongoing ICC Women’s Championship (2022-2025).
Bhattacharjee has been a pivotal figure in the development of cricket in Meghalaya for over 15 years. His efforts were instrumental in securing the state’s permanent membership in the BCCI in 2018. In 2016, he served on the BCCI’s NADP Committee and, in 2017, was a member of a seven-member committee, including Jay Shah, Rajeev Shukla, and Sourav Ganguly, tasked with reviewing recommendations from the Justice R.M. Lodha Committee. Additionally, he was part of the BCCI delegation that organized a two-match series between India and the West Indies in Florida in 2016 to promote cricket in the USA.
The Indian contingent is set to depart from Mumbai on November 30 en route to Brisbane.
