Kohima, Apr 6: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio urged people to learn customary laws and honour their ancestors while celebrating the festival with peace and unity.
Rio, along with Union Minister of State for Education and Development of the North Eastern Region, Sukanta Majumdar, jointly inaugurated the Konyak Heritage Complex in Mon town.
He stated that the complex would be handed over to the Department of Underdeveloped Areas (DUDA) as a government agency but urged the people to maintain it properly.
Rio encouraged the community to protect, preserve, and promote the Konyak Heritage Complex.

The North Eastern Council (NEC), under the Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region (DoNER), provided ₹24 crore for the heritage site.
The state government has also contributed to several projects within the complex, including road construction.
Union Minister Majumdar expressed his happiness at being part of the program and witnessing the rich traditions and culture of the Konyak tribe.
He remarked that Nagaland is truly the “Land of Festivals,” with celebrations throughout the year, and praised the Konyak tribe—one of the largest and most prominent in the state—for its rich cultural heritage.
