Guwahati, May 12: Narayan Seva Sansthan from Udaipur, organised a ‘Free Artificial Limb Camp for differently abled’ for the first time in Guwahati on Sunday over 600 disabled individuals and representatives from 30 local organisations participated in the camp.
The Camp was inaugurated by Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria. Governor extended his best wishes for the well being of the differently- abled individuals and their families who attended the Camp.
Sansthan director Vandana Agarwal said that “there are many patients who require corrective surgery who have lost their hands or legs and are not able to come to Udaipur thats why the entire team of our organization is present here to help the disabled people.We checked around 500 to 600 patients. Everyone’s map has been taken and checkup done, after two months they will be given artificial limbs”.
A women patient who came from Assam’s Sivsagarh told that ” I fell ill four years ago, had an operation one year ago. I found information about this camp online. Today I feel very good that I will be able to walk like before. I am very thankful to this organization because it has given me artificial leg that we are not able to buy ourselves”.
The event was held at Aashi Apsara Hall, Paltan Bazaar, Guwahati.
