Guwahati, April 22: The 30 Assam Battalion of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) is organizing the Inter Battalion Sports Shooting Championship for selected cadets from seven North Eastern states. This prestigious event is being held under the aegis of the NCC Directorate NER, Shillong at the firing range of the 4 Assam Police Battalion in Kahilipara, Guwahati.
The primary objective of this competition is to select the best shooters from the entire North Eastern Region (NER) to represent their respective states in the upcoming Inter Directorate Sports Shooting Championship. This national-level championship will take place in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, starting from July 2.
A total of 311 selected cadets from across the NER are participating in this event, and a team of 22 cadets will be chosen to represent the region at the Inter Directorate Championship. These dedicated cadets are currently staying at the CATC cum IBSSC camp located at Sarusajai Sports Stadium in Guwahati. It is worth mentioning that these cadets have traveled from remote locations such as Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh, Lungleng in Mizoram, and Mokokchung in Nagaland to showcase their talent and represent their proud states at the national level.
The competition, which commenced on April 17, will conclude on April 25. Colonel S Anup mentioned that the selected team would be given three days of practice at the indoor shooting range in Kahilipara. This practice will enable them to experience a world-class facility and help them prepare effectively for the upcoming competition.
