Tura, Sept 18: Showing its commitment to fostering research excellence, particularly in the North-Eastern region, the 2nd edition of the Anusandhan programme, organized by the Research and Development (R&D) Cell of North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), was held on Wednesday at NEHU’s Tura Campus.

This event underscored the institution’s focus on promoting research and innovation within its academic framework. The event was graced by NEHU Vice-Chancellor, Professor P.S. Shukla, as the Chief Guest, with Professor Sujata Gurudev, Director of NEHU Tura Campus, serving as the Guest of Honour.

Professor Santaram Joshi, Director of the R&D Cell, delivered the welcome address, followed by Professor Timir Tripathi from NEHU Shillong, who provided a comprehensive overview of the R&D Cell’s role in nurturing research activities at NEHU.

The programme’s objectives were elaborated on by Dr Madhukar Gampala, the Organizing Secretary and Associate Professor in the Department of Education, NEHU Tura Campus.

Both the Vice-Chancellor and the Campus Director spoke about the growing significance of research and its contribution to knowledge, innovation, and societal development.

Dr. Sunildro L.S. Akoijam, Associate Professor at the Department of Management, NEHU Tura Campus, concluded the event with a vote of thanks.

The Anusandhan programme also featured an informal session led by Professor Santosh Kumar (Department of Mathematics, NEHU Shillong) on “Research Problem Design and Paper Writing Techniques for Scholars,” followed by Professor D.K. Biswal (Department of Zoology, NEHU Shillong), who discussed “Unlocking the Power of Critical Reflection and Ethical Decision Making in Research Work.” The key speaker, Professor Manash Goswami (Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, NEHU Shillong), addressed the topic of “Deception in Academic Publishing”.
