Tura, Feb 23: A new Executive Committee under current CEM Rakesh A Sangma has been given the green signal by Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik to run the GHADC administration on Monday.
The ten member EC consists of two MDCs, including a rebel Trinamool member, whose crucial support helped the NPP led alliance to remove its rebel CEM Benedic R Marak who had allied with the opposition party in an unsuccessful last bid attempt to retain power.
Rebel Congress MDC who switched sides to regional party UDP, Ashahel D Shira, and Stevie Marak, a Congress MDC who defected to Trinamool and later joined the NPP alliance have both been rewarded with Executive Member positions in the new GHADC dispensation.
