Williamnagar, July 24: The collective NGOs of Williamnagar, consisting of the Garo Student Union, FKJGP, AIGU, AAYF, and Williamnagar Government College Student Union, came together to honor the Principal of Educere Higher Secondary School, Williamnagar, Smt. Gamchi Timre R. Marak. She was awarded the prestigious National Awards to Teachers 2022 by the President of India, Droupade Murmu, during a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Teachers’ Day.

The event was presided over by Mr. John Miltu A. Sangma, who warmly welcomed all the attendees. The chief guest for the occasion was Mr. Alphunsus R. Marak, the current MDC of Williamnagar Constituency, and in attendance was Smt. Ripamchi Sangma, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of East Garo Hills.

During her speech, Gamchi Timre R. Marak expressed her gratitude to the NGOs for bestowing this honor upon her. She shared insights into her journey and the challenges she faced while striving to achieve her goals. She emphasized that obtaining the award was not an easy task, but her determination never wavered. She attributed her success to the support of her beloved Williamnagar community, her dedicated students, parents, and the various challenges she encountered along the way. Finally, she urged all the teachers present at the gathering to carry out their noble profession with utmost dedication, contributing to the betterment of both their students and society.

As the chief guest of the event, Mr. Alphonsus R. Marak extended his heartfelt congratulations to Gamchi Timre R. Marak, expressing immense joy at having the privilege to honor her for her outstanding achievement. He shared that he had known her since childhood, witnessing her active involvement in social work. He praised her as an inspiration and commended her for being the deserving recipient of the prestigious award.

He further stated that the entire community of Williamnagar should take pride in her remarkable accomplishment, which brings laurels to the town.

The felicitation ceremony served as a momentous occasion for the community to appreciate and celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of Gamchi Timre R. Marak, recognizing her unwavering dedication and significant contributions to education and society.
