Guwahati, Nov 20: Nine Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended in Assam’s Karimganj district on Tuesday for illegally entering India.
The detained individuals were identified as Md Mamun, Abbu Naim, Rashed Islam, Morad Ali Mandal, Md Asraful Haque, Md Basir Hawladar, Md Robiul Hawladar, Md Mahabat Ali, and Md Mohim Hossain. Following an inquiry, they were handed over to Bangladeshi authorities, highlighting Assam’s proactive approach to cross-border issues.
Commending the operation, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma posted on X: “Today, in an alert move, @assampolice identified and apprehended 9 Bangladeshi infiltrators in Karimganj and sent them across the border”
