Shillong, Sept 29: The National Institute of Technology, Meghalaya (NIT-M) will observe its 8th Convocation Ceremony on October 01, 2021, in which two personalities will be awarded Honorary Doctorate for their outstanding contributions in their respective field of expertise.
NIT Meghalaya will felicitate Prof. D N Buragohain by Conferring an Honorary doctorate for his remarkable contributions to developing general-purpose software BSAFE for static and dynamic analysis & carrying out structural analyses and design of Power Plants in India.
NIT Meghalaya will also felicitate Neil Herbert Nongkynrih by Conferring an Honorary Ph.D. Degree for his notable contributions in the field of Music.
The convocation will be attended by Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, as the chief guest and Prof. (Dr.) K K Aggarwal Chairman, National Board of Accreditation, as the guest of honour.
The Institute will confer degrees to 19 Ph.D, 34 M.Tech, 37 M.Sc and 124 B.Tech. students.
Gold Medals
– The prestigious President’s Gold Medal for the year 2021 will be awarded to Jaswant Arya, of the Computer Science and Engineering for best academic performance among the entire outgoing B. Tech. batch of students.
The Institute Gold Medals will be awarded to the following students having secured highest CGPA in their respective programs:
