Shillong, April 4: Chairman of the Meghalaya Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) James K Sangma has said that the corporation has not acquired any new land during the past five years.
Sangma has informed this to the suspended VPP legislator from North Shillong Adelbert Nongrum during a meeting held on Friday.

Speaking to reporters, Nongrum said that he had sought clarification from the MIDC chairman in regards to the allegation made by the CORP that the corporation had acquired 300 acres of land in Ri Bhoi district.
“The chairman however informed that the corporation has not acquired any land in the past five years,” he said.
Nongrum said that the chairman also clarified that there has been no fund sanctioned by the state government for such purpose of purchasing land.
