Shillong, Aug 20: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Monday confirmed that there will be no cabinet reshuffle as of now.
“No, nothing as of now. We are where we are right now and we will continue to work as and where we are right now,” Sangma told reporters.
His statement has put to rest speculation of dropping one of the two ministers from the United Democratic Party (UDP) following the merger of the three Congress MLAs with the NPP.
The NPP has achieved absolute majority by increasing its strength from 28 to 31 after the joining of the Congress MLAs.
Reports have alleged that the Chief Minister has promised cabinet berth to one of the three MLAs.
However, Sangma had maintained that the three Congress MLAs have merged with the NPP without any condition and their decision was purely driven by developmental projects for their respective constituencies.
