Tura, Dec 15: The Nokrek Heights School, Tura, celebrated their Annual School Day Cum Pre-Christmas celebration on Friday at the Tura District Auditorium under the theme of ‘Embrace Peace’.
Attending the event as the chief guest, MBOSE’s Controller of Examinations, T. R. Laloo, said, “On an occasion like this, since I also come from the Education Department, it’s always a joy for us to be in the midst of parents and students, because education is not only a role that is played by the school, but the entire society as a whole.”
He underscored the role of parents, school, government and the entire society in educating the students. “So we are glad that we are all here today to play a part of education for our students,” he remarked.
The welcome address was delivered by the Principal of Nokrek Heights School, Nengse M Marak, followed by another speech by manager of Nokrek Heights School. The event was also briefly attended by Tura MP, Agatha Sangma.
The event saw several captivating performances by the students of the school such as “Light a Candle” song presentation by school choir, a short play on ‘The Pied Piper’, an action song on ‘all things bright and beautiful’, and a character display promoting a healthy lifestyle.
The event further encompassed the cultural aspect with folk song and dance, musical play on the theme “Peace”, and a musical performances by the school choir.
