The Civil Hospital at Nongpoh is all set to provide advanced medical services to newborns with the inauguration of its new Special Care Newborn Unit (SNCU) on Thursday.

With this inauguration, Civil Hospital Nongpoh is now the first government hospital in the state to be equipped with this medical facility for newborn babies.

Dr. HB Buam, pediatrician and Incharge of SNCU, said that it has been a long-awaited project to bring the facility to the hospital, but it was only until this year that the facility is ready to begin operating and to provide medical services free of charge to newborn babies.
