In his speech, Ambassador H.E. Sandeep Arya, India’s Ambassador to Vietnam emphasized upon better connectivity, trade and tourism between Vietnam and North East India and supported the air connectivity between Guwahati and Hanoi and HMCC.

Dinh Vinh Cuong, Director, Vietnam International Entrepreneurs Networking Club said, “We are initiating direct flight routes between Vietnam and North East India. I’ve had productive discussions with Mr. Shyamkanu Mahanta, and I’m pleased to share that I will be leading a delegation of 22 investors to explore opportunities in North East India in the upcoming months.”

Shyamkanu Mahanta, Chief Organiser of the North East India Festival, said, “The response so far has been wonderful. The inaugural day witnessed the presence of leaders from various provinces in Vietnam, engaging in fruitful negotiations. Today’s trade and tourism discussions with Vietnamese industries, facilitated by DoNER Ministry India and Invest India, have been highly productive. This programme marks India’s largest initiative in Vietnam to date. I am delighted that North East India has led the way in showcasing Vietnam as a destination and championing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Act East policy. We are optimistic that this endeavour will not only create meaningful connections between our nations but also result in substantial and strategic outcomes in the world of education, culture, and trade. We greatly appreciate the support extended by Vietnam’s stakeholders, local communities, and our representatives from India.”

Madan Mohan Sethi, Consul General of India in HCMC, reflected on the event, stating, “The North East India Festival serves as a bridge of cultural and economic collaboration between our nations. It is heartening to witness the spirit of partnership and exchange that this festival embodies.”
