Shillong, Aug 10: Meghalaya is set to host the 2nd edition of North East Olympics Games from October 30 till November 6, 2022 at Shillong. The Organising Committee informed that 8 states will participate under 18 disciplines in North East Olympics Games 2022.

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, Minister in-charge of Sports, Banteidor Lyngdoh, said that the North East Olympics will host around 3000 players in all 18 disciplines from all the 8 NE States.

“We from the Government have properly prepared the North East Olympics Games for a year or so now… this edition will be special as the state is also celebrating the 50th year of attaining its Statehood,” said the Minister.

Working President of Meghalaya State Olympic, John F. Kharshiing informed that most of the games will be played at the Sports Authority of India (SAI), NEHU Campus, and some in JN Stadium, Shillong.
