Shillong, Feb 20: The NorthEast United FC team on Thursday morning hit the NEHU Ground in Shillong for a light training session ahead of their home game against Bengaluru FC on Saturday.

This will be their second home match in Shillong and after a disappointing result against Mumbai FC, the Highlanders are looking to turn things around.

With just a few games left, every point matters. NorthEast United currently sits in 4th place with 32 points from 21 matches, while Bengaluru FC is close behind in 6th place with 31 points from 20 games. A win could give either team a strong push toward the playoffs.
Head-to-head, Bengaluru FC has had the upper hand, winning 8 of their 17 meetings, while NorthEast United has only managed 2 victories.
But with everything on the line, past records won’t mean much when the teams step onto the field. With the backing of tens of thousands of Shillong fans, NorthEast United will have the much-needed boost and a strong home-ground advantage.
