Shillong, Sep 1: Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya and NPP National Vice President, Prestone Tyngsong, led the way on Friday by donating blood for a good cause during the Blood Donation Drive organised by the NPP.
This event was part of the 11th Foundation Day of the party and a tribute to the 76th birth anniversary of the late party leader, Purno A. Sangma.
The personal security officers (PSOs) of the Deputy CM also joined in this initiative.
Dy CM said he is a regular blood donor, and this is his 10th or 11th donation.
Earlier in the day, Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma and the son of late PA Sangma paid rich tributes to his late father with his family members.

Purno Agitok Sangma, former Lok Sabha speaker and former chief minister of Meghalaya, died of a heart attack in Shillong on March 4, 2016. He served as the chief minister of Meghalaya (1988–1990) and was a nine-time Lok Sabha member.
He was born on September 1, 1947, in Chapahati village of the West Garo Hills district in Meghalaya. He completed his graduation from St. Anthony’s College and did his Masters from Dibrugarh in international relations.
