Shillong, June 27: To strengthen the party in the coming MLA elections 2023, National People’s Party (NPP) Chief Conrad K Sangma on Monday announced that for the first time the Party will field a candidate from Mylliem Constituency.
Speaking to reporters after a programme the NPP prez and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said, “We have started to organize the party. As we move along we will explore all the options. As a political party it is our endeavor to put up maximum number of candidates.”
Worth mentioning is that the CM is also a resident of 3 1/2 mile, Upper Shillong.
Meanwhile, speculations are rife that the current MLA of Mylliem, Hamletson Dohling of the People’s Democratic Front (PDF), will be the face of the NPP in the coming MLA elections in 2023.
The NPP has set up its office in the Mylliem Block, Nongkseh, Laimer. Sangma met the party workers of the NPP- Mylliem Block at the office in the morning hours.

The candidates who have announced their candidature in the upcoming Assembly elections from Mylliem constituency are MDC RV Lyngdoh of Congress Party, MDC of Laban Mawprem Mitchel Wankhar from UDP and former MLA from Mylliem constituency Pynshai Manik Syiem as an independent candidate.
