Dibrugarh, Jan 9: In a significant move to enhance safety and emergency response capabilities, ONGC Assam Asset has expanded its fleet with 65 new ambulances.
The ambulances were officially flagged off today by Bhaskar Chowdary Nettem, ED-Asset Manager, at ONGC’s Logistics Department in Sivasagar. The event witnessed the presence of Chinmoy Prakash Phookan, Managing Director of Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC), along with senior officials from ONGC, ASTC, M/s Force Motors, and representatives of the ONGC workforce.
Speaking at the event, Bhaskar Chowdary Nettem emphasized the vital role of safety in ONGC’s operations. “Ensuring safety and security is integral to our mission of achieving excellence in oil and gas production. The introduction of these ambulances demonstrates our commitment to prioritizing the well-being of our employees and stakeholders,” he stated. He also lauded the team’s efforts in successfully executing the hiring process for the vehicles.
The ambulances are equipped with essential features such as foldable seats, swiveling fans, autoloader stretchers, and provisions for 2.2L oxygen cylinders. These will be deployed across ONGC Assam Asset’s operational sites, including drill locations, workover rigs, and production installations.
This initiative is part of ONGC’s ongoing efforts to support local communities and infrastructure, following its successful allocation of 372 light motor vehicles to local youths through a lottery-based tendering process.
Chinmoy Prakash Phookan ASTC MD expressed gratitude for ONGC’s enduring partnership with ASTC. “This collaboration is a testament to ONGC’s commitment to empowering local institutions. We look forward to strengthening this valuable relationship further,” he said. He also reaffirmed ASTC’s dedication to providing uninterrupted services to ONGC.
