Onyx, Sangkni, SYM & G-Force A reach P.A. Sangma Memorial Basketball semifinals

Tura, March 1: The four teams- Onyx, Sangkni, SYM and G-Force A have secured a place in the semifinal of the P.A. Sangma Memorial Basketball Tournament 2025.

The semifinal match will be held on Monday.

The third day brought electrifying action as the quarterfinals unfolded on Saturday at Don Bosco College in Tura.

Out of the 12 participating teams, only the top two from each group advanced to this intense knockout stage, with the finals set for March 4.

The first quarterfinal saw team Onyx dominate Samurai, a local Tura team, right from the jump-ball. Onyx maintained complete control throughout the game, securing a commanding 73-30 victory.

The most thrilling match of the day was between Sangkni and Salgro 13, featuring high-intensity play from both sides. After a fierce battle, Sangkni emerged victorious with a 77-52 win, booking their place in the semifinals.

Next up was a highly anticipated clash between SYM and Dubakh, two arch-rival teams from Shillong. Despite strong efforts from Dubakh, SYM cruised to a 60-31 win, securing their semifinal spot.

The final match of the evening featured two popular Tura-based teams, Surmount and G-Force A. G-Force A took the lead early and maintained a consistent 10-point advantage, eventually closing the game with a 74-64 victory.
