Guwahati, Mar 8: A series of events were organized by various organizations in Guwahati to mark the International Women’s Day.
Prithibi an NGO celebrated International Women’s Day at B Barooah College campus in Guwahati. A car rally was organized, which witnessed participation from of female drivers. The rally started from B Barooah College campus in the morning today. The rally highlighted the essential and inseparable roles of decent work and gender equality.
Speaking at the rally Assamese film actor, Akakhi Tora said that “it’s a calendar event, and with it the organization wants to spread the massage of equality to everyone”.
Om Shy Production also organised a half Marathon in Guwahati. Almost 300 runners participated in the Marathon. The Marathon started from Ulubari High School to closed at the Last gate In Guwahati.
One of the organizers of said that, ” physical fitness is very important and a society is developed when a women is safe and needs no protection”.
