Shillong, Aug 28: Deputy Chief Minister in-charge PWD (Roads), Prestone Tynsong, on Wednesday informed that the current status of land acquisition for the 2-lane Shillong Western Bypass road project is 96.33% in East Khasi Hills District and 94.50% in Ri Bhoi District.
Rs 5,92,03,07,291 have been sanctioned for the compensation of which Rs 479,46,09,470 in East Khasi Hills District and Rs 112,56,97,821 in Ri Bhoi District, he said in his reply tabled in the Assembly.
He informed that the work of this project is expected to be commenced in the month of September, 2024 after monsoon.
The project is expected to complete after 2 years from the date of commencement.
