Shillong, April 25: A man was arrested by the Special Cell of East Khasi Hills police on Thursday for allegedly posting anti-national content on social media in connection with the recent Pahalgam terror attack.
The accused, identified as identified as Simon Shylla (30), who reportedly used the Facebook account “Man Shylla,” had made disturbing remarks in response to a video aired by Northeast Live News. In his post, he allegedly supported the terrorists involved in the April 22 attack and called for similar acts of violence against a particular community in the Northeast.

Police stated that his comments posed a serious threat to the unity and integrity of the country. Acting swiftly on intelligence inputs from multiple sources, the police traced and apprehended Shylla from his residence in Umlyngka, Upper Shillong.
Two mobile phones were seized from his possession during the operation. A case has been registered at Lumdiengjri Police Station under Lumdiengjri PS Case No. 421(04)2025, invoking sections 113(3), 196(1)(a) and 147 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Shylla will be produced before the court on Friday.
