Shillong, April 25: The Shillong Muslim Union (SMU) on Thursday unequivocally condemned the heinous terrorist attack targeting innocent civilians in Pahalgam.

“We express our deepest sorrow and solidarity with the victims and their families during this time of grief,” SMU general secretary Alhaj Sayeedullah Nongrum said in a statement.

He added, “Such acts of violence are not only inhumane but stand in complete contradiction to the core teachings of Islam, which promotes peace, compassion and the sanctity of human life. We firmly reject all forms of terrorism and extremism, regardless of the perpetrators or their claimed motivations.”

The SMU also called upon the authorities to take swift and just action against those responsible and urges all communities to unite against hatred and violence.
