Itanagar, Jan 14: The serene banks of the Lohit River came alive on Tuesday as Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein inaugurated the much-awaited Parshuram Kund Mela 2025. Joined by dignitaries, including HMLA Zingnu Namchoom, ZPC Dasalu Krisikro, and senior officials, the Deputy CM set the tone for an event that blends spirituality, culture, and development.
Welcoming thousands of pilgrims who had journeyed to the sacred site, Deputy CM Mein emphasized the government’s commitment to creating a seamless and enriching experience. “We want every pilgrim to leave with cherished memories. The administration has taken every measure to ensure the Mela is organized without hiccups,” he assured him during his address.
A Commitment to Development
Highlighting the broader vision for the Parshuram Kund area, Mein announced an ambitious ₹150 crore development plan under the PRASAD scheme. From modernizing visitor facilities to preserving the sanctity of the site, the government aims to position Parshuram Kund as a premier spiritual and tourist destination.
“We’re not just hosting a Mela; we’re creating an enduring legacy. Enhanced infrastructure and facilities will benefit both pilgrims and the local community,” Mein stated, underscoring the dual focus on heritage preservation and regional growth.
Meticulous Preparations for Pilgrim Safety
AJ Lungphi, ADC of Wakro and the Mela Coordinator, detailed the extensive preparations in place. From clearly marked routes and well-maintained bathing ghats to a 24×7 control room, the arrangements reflect a commitment to safety and convenience.
“With CCTV surveillance and public address systems covering the area, we’re leaving no stone unturned to ensure smooth operations,” Lungphi said, adding that these measures aim to manage the massive influx of pilgrims while maintaining order.
Spiritual Significance Meets Tourism Potential
Mela received a boost with the presence of Member of Parliament Rameshwar Teli, who offered prayers at the sacred site. His visit highlighted the dual significance of the event – as a cornerstone of faith and a driver of tourism.
The Parshuram Kund Mela is more than a gathering; it is a confluence of spirituality and celebration, drawing devotees from across the country to cleanse their souls and revel in cultural festivities.
