Party’s current silence signals calm before storm, not weakness: TIPRA Motha chief

Must read

Agartala, Feb 5: Pradyot Kishore Deb Barma, founder of TIPRA Motha and royal scion, on Monday expressed that the party’s current silence shouldn’t be mistaken for weakness, but rather to be taken as the calm before a storm, until the Tiprasa people’s rights are secured.

Speaking during the celebration of TIPRA Motha’s third foundation day, he highlighted the party’s dual roles as the ruling party in TTAADC and the primary Opposition in the Tripura Legislative Assembly.

Praising BJP’s success in building the Ram Temple, he emphasised his party’s commitment to finding a constitutional solution for the development of indigenous communities. He stated that they wouldn’t compromise on this goal.

Looking ahead to the upcoming elections, he mentioned that TIPRA Motha would support any party that agrees to their core demand in writing.

Despite maintaining positive relationships with national leaders from BJP, Congress, and CPIM, Deb Barma acknowledged that local political differences hindered these parties from fulfilling promises and aspirations of the indigenous population.

Deb Barma assured the public that he would continue to work towards these goals, asking for confidence and patience as achieving them might take time, but they are foreseeable and likely to happen soon.
