Shillong, July 5: Amidst speculations of the possible split in the Regional Democratic Alliance (RDA), United Democratic Party leader and cabinet Minister Paul Lyngdoh has clarified that HSPDP will not pull out support from the RDA but would like to contest the Autonomous District Council (ADC) elections separately.
“Since the matter is not formally conveyed to us, we will only be able to discuss the matter more thoroughly when we meet as an alliance,” Lyngdoh said.
He, however, said the two partners will soon sit and formulate strategies further in this regard.
It may be mentioned that the UDP leader had earlier stated that HSPDP will pull out support from the RDA.
Not only this, the talks were on about the dissatisfaction shown by some UDP leader being part of MDA Government, to which Lyngdoh clarified that some of the UDP leaders were not in favour of NDA government but the majority supported the views of being part of it.
“The overall view of the majority was that 2023 was the verdict in favour of MDA,” Paul clarified.
