Shillong, May 9: United Democratic Party (UDP) leader and cabinet minister Paul Lyngdoh on Friday expressed concern over the decision of the opposition parties to opt out of the all party committee, which seeks to examine the proposal for implementation of railway projects in the state.
His statement came after the Congress and the Voice of the People Party (VPP) have announced their decision not to participate in the upcoming meeting of the all party committee constituted by the state government.

“I do not know what actually prompted such a reaction because this is a highly sensitive matter that has been raised from time to time and we thought that an all party committee would be the best platform as you get to hear all views, counter views, neutral views,” Lyngdoh told reporters.
“But if this is the kind of reaction then I do not know it just means that this effort will fail and we will continue to be in a state of limbo,” he stated.
