Tura, July 25: Jagdish Chelani, the District Magistrate of West Garo Hills, while speaking Exclusively to the Hub News on the mob attack at the CMO in Tura on Monday, said that anything that is frightening the public is an act of terror, and such incidents will not be forgiven by the people of Tura nor by the District administration.
“We asked the leaders to come out and calm down the crowd but it was informed that the crowd was not the same who took part in the protest,” he said.
“It was a pre-planned attack and they had come to hijack the gatherings and started stone pelting,” he said.
He said that when the stone pelting incident started, their first priority was to pull back the security and ensure that everyone was safe.
DC further said that a total of 18 people have been detained in this incident.
The main perpetrators have been identified, and those parties who have instigated the attack for their narrow political motives will either spend their entire lives inside jail or in court.
He also said that the situation in Tura is normal and that everything is functioning normally.
