NONGPOH, Feb 25: Unidentified miscreants hurled a petrol bomb in a residential area targetting parked vehicles in Umsning, Ri Bhoi, late Saturday night but alert residents managed to contain the damage.
The target of the attack, which took place at 1:20 AM, was ostensibly a parked JCB earthmover and one auto truck that was parked in the residence of one Lovercuf Nongshli at Patarim, under Umsning police outpost.
Alert residents were able to save one of the trucks from getting caught in the fire but the JCB truck suffered partial damage in the attack.
Police teams visited the site after being alerted and investigation is underway.
