Shillong, June 5: Land Committee of the Seiñraij Jowai organized a Tree Plantation on World Environment Day at the sacred Loom Mookhai.

The plantation drive was held in the presence of SD Shylla, Tourism Officer of West Jaiñtia Hills and The Dolloi of Elaka Jowai, Puramon Kynjing.

The theme for this year’s World Environment Day is “Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience”.

Speaking at the gathering, SD Shylla informed that as part of the World Environment Day her office will be planting over 4,000 saplings across West Jaiñtia Hills.

Over 300 saplings were planted today seeing participation of the students from Seiñraij Higher Secondary School, Jowai.
