New Delhi, Aug 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday that he is happy to see the pineapples from Meghalaya receiving the recognition they deserve both domestically and internationally.
PM Modi said this in response to the X thread of the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K. Sangma, about the Pineapple Festival at Dilli Haat.
PM Modi wrote, “Happy to see Meghalaya’s pineapples receiving the recognition they deserve both domestically and internationally. Such endeavours not only celebrate our diverse agricultural heritage but also empower our farmers.”
Following which, CM Conrad thanked PM Modi for appreciating Meghalaya’s pineapples. He wrote, “hopeful that its fame and sweetness further reaches worldwide under your guidance.”

The Meghalaya Pineapple Fest 2023 kicked off at New Delhi’s iconic Dilli Haat, INA, on Friday.
Giriraj Singh, the Union Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, inaugurated the event in the presence of Meghalaya CM Conrad K. Sangma and other dignitaries.
The three-day Pineapple Fest aims not only to showcase the succulent Kew pineapples but also the rich cultural heritage of the state.
