Guwahati, June 3: The Sanskar Bharati, Kamrup Metropolitan District organized a poetry recitation workshop at Kailash Nagar, on Sunday. More than 100 children participated in the workshop.
The event was held in collaborations with Kailash Nagar Development Committee, Forest Gate (Narengi), Kailash Nagar and Assam Recitation and Culture Council.
In the workshop children were trained by Dr Debashis Saikia who is an expert of poetry recitation.
At the inauguration ceremony of a poetry recitation workshop, Dr, Devashis Saikia of Guwahati University, Dr Debabrata Saikia of Sandikoi College Councillor Gukul Goswami, President of Assam Recitation and Culture Council and other dignitaries were present for the occasion.
The organizer of the poetry recitation workshop said that the program was initiated with an aim to teach the culture of Assam to the students in its real form, so that when they grow up, they can understand the Sanskrit of Assam in its real form.
The organizer also said that various workshops are organized from time to time, but such poetry recitation workshops are rare. Therefore, the new generation will benefit greatly from the workshop.
