Police seized Yaba tablets worth Rs 5 crore, 3 arrested in Tripura

Agartala, Mar 7: In a major drug haul, Tripura police arrested three persons and seized 1.06 lakh yaba tablets worth over Rs 5 crore from the Maheskhala area in Agartala on Thursday.

The person has been identified as- Md Babul Miah (45).

After getting tip-off, a raid was conducted at the residence of Md Babul Miah and contraband drugs were seized from his posession.

“During the operation, we seized 1.06 lakh yaba tablets with a market value of ₹5 crore. Along with Babul Miah, we arrested two other individuals, identified as Sanjay Miah (42) and Sipan Hossein (26). We have also confiscated multiple mobile phones and motorcycles linked to the operation,” said an police official.

Meanwhile, police have intensified their anti-narcotics operations in Agartala, registering ten cases and arresting 21 individuals in the past eight days.
