Preparations underway for first-ever BCCI cricket tournament at Allotgre ground in Tura

Tura, Jan 19: The Meghalaya Cricket Association (MCA) President, N. Bhattacharjee, visited Tura on January 16 to review preparations for the upcoming CK Nayudu Trophy match, scheduled to be held from January 25 at Allotgre Ground in Tura.

The match will be the first-ever BCCI tournament in the region, with Meghalaya facing Bengal.

During the review meeting, TDCA officials provided a detailed update on the progress made so far, including inspections of the ground and related infrastructure.

MCA president, Bhattacharjee commended the dedication and hard work of TDCA officials, ground staff, and support teams.

Highlighting the effort behind securing the match, Bhattacharjee recalled the challenges faced in convincing the then BCCI Honorary Secretary to allot the game, ultimately providing his personal assurance for its successful hosting.

Expressing confidence in the arrangements, Bhattacharjee emphasised the importance of seamless execution to establish Allotgre Ground as a permanent BCCI-approved venue.

He urged all stakeholders to work in unison to ensure the match is a resounding success and sets a benchmark for future events.
