Shillong, Nov 14: Meghalaya deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong on Tuesday chaired a joint meeting with the planning department, finance department, and PWD department to discuss on ways to improve the working of the Public Works Department (PWD) in Meghalaya.
Tynsong said that they have finalised that an Office Memorandum will be issued which will consist of all the details as per presentation given on Tuesday. “We discussed that we should categorise the state road that we have which are major and minor road or which are village road and most commercial roads,” mentioned the PWD minister.
Furthermore, the minister stated that be it the construction of new road or repairing and maintenance of old roads they will categorise.
He also informed that, at present, Meghalaya has over 10,000 kms of state road excluding National Highway.
“All these details were discussed and very soon we will come up with an OM,” said Tynsong.
