Promo Run under the theme ‘A Run For Veterans’ unites soldiers and civilians

Jaipur, Oct 13: The Promo Run, organized under the Honour Run initiative, was successfully completed in Jaipur on Sunday, drawing over 500 enthusiastic participants, including army personnel, veterans, and runners of Jaipur.

The event, themed ‘A Run for Veterans,’ aimed to honour the courage and sacrifice of the Army Veterans also promoted awareness about fitness and health.

Lt. Gen. Harbinder Singh Vandra, Chief of Staff HQ South Western Command was the chief guest and flagged-off the run.

The enthusiastic participation from the Jaipur community highlighted the event as a collective effort. In a show of solidarity, renowned marathon champion Anita Janu also participated in Promo Run, offering guidance to the runners and paying tribute to veterans. Also, among the Jaipur runners were Ravi Goenka and Mukesh Mishra, co-founders of Jaipur Runners, as well as Praveen Tijaria, the president of Jaipur Runners including other prominent runners. This event was not just a fitness initiative but a symbol of patriotism and respect for the nation’s heroes. The run served as an inspiring example of paying tribute to the brave soldiers of the Indian Army while promoting fitness. Participants of all age groups took part in the race, from children to the elderly. It is worth mentioning that the event is being managed by IIEMR.

Following the successful execution of the Promo Run, preparations for the prestigious Honour Run, scheduled for December 8, 2024, are underway. This Honour Run, themed ‘A Run for Veterans,’ aims to pay tribute to the soldiers and their families. The main event will feature timed runs of 21 km, 10 km, and 5 km, along with a non-timed 3 km run.

With the successful completion of the Promo Run, preparations for the main Honour Run are progressing rapidly. Runners can register to participate in various categories. Registration is free for veterans, and civilians can secure their spots by visiting the event’s website.
