Hyderabad, Feb 20: The BCCI Ranji Trophy Plate Group Final witnessed an intense clash between Meghalaya and Hyderabad at the match on Tuesday, at Rajeev Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
The match commenced with Meghalaya winning the toss and electing to bat first, setting the stage for an exhilarating showdown.
Meghalaya displayed commendable batting mastery, amassing a total of 304 runs in their first innings. Raj Biswa led the charge with a quickfire of 64 runs off 48 balls, closely followed by Akash Kumar’s 50 runs off 57 balls. Jaskirat Singh and Dippu Sangma also added a significant 46 runs (off 72 balls) and 42 runs (off 99 balls) respectively.
Hyderabad put up a fight, posting a total of 350 runs in their first innings, securing a lead of 46 runs. Meghalaya’s bowling attack, led by Chengkham Sangma (3/54), Akash Kumar (3/59), and Dippu Sangma (2/68), put up a spirited fight.
Meanwhile, Meghalaya fought back valiantly in their second innings, posting a target of 198 runs for Hyderabad. Raj Biswas again stood out, smashing an impressive century with 100 runs off 114 balls, while Jaskarit Singh contributed 81 runs off 157 balls.
Hyderabad clinched victory by reaching the target with ease, scoring 203 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in just 34.2 overs. Chengkham Sangma (3/47), Aryan Bora (1/13), and Raj Biswas (1/49) were the wicket-takers for Meghalaya fought a hard battle.
Hyderabad’s K. Nitesh Reddy was awarded Man of the Match title for his exceptional performance, scoring 122 runs off 194 balls, making Hyderabad triumph.
