Tura, Jan 22: The Reliance Foundation Young Academy, in collaboration with the District Football Association in Tura, recently conducted a two-day selection trial exclusively for boys at the GBHSS Chandmari Football Turf in Tura.
Scouts Joel Mawroh and Pynsuk Lapang from the Reliance Foundation Young Academy conducted the selection process, choosing Brayando G Sangma, Chuen Dilsrang N Arengh, Luxbirt M Sangma, and Mallengga N Sangma from Monday’s pool of registered candidates.
This trial specifically targeted boys from the Garo Hills district, with a key criterion being that they should be born between December 1, 2011, and December 31, 2012. The chosen players from this trial will progress to additional rounds in Shillong, and if successful, they will proceed to the Mumbai trials for the Reliance Foundation Youth Academy.
As of now, 25 candidates from different regions of Garo Hills have participated, and more are anticipated to join. The selection process is exclusively for boys aged 11 and 12, and participants were required to provide proof of age through their birth certificate and/or Aadhar card.
Additionally, there are plans to conduct trials for boys aged 13 and 14 in July. There is also consideration for organising trials for the girls’ division, expanding the opportunities for aspiring young football enthusiasts.
