Shillong, Oct 1: Residents of the Shillong Cantonment Board (SCB) took proactive steps towards a cleaner and healthier environment under the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign on Sunday.

As part of this nationwide cleanliness drive initiated by the Central Government, the Shillong Cantonment Board carried out an extensive cleanliness campaign in various areas within the cantonment.

The cleaning drive was also carried out in other facilities, such as schools, hospitals, markets, public parks, and residential areas. The campaign focused not only on cleaning but also on rejuvenating community facilities like cleanliness in public toilets.

The entire community actively participated in the cleaning drive campaign, showing a collective commitment to cleanliness and hygiene by both residents and authorities of the Shillong Contentment Board.

Among the residents and officials of SCB, BJP MLA of Laban, Sanbor Shullai, joined in lending his support to this initiative. The MLA stressed the importance of such campaigns in fostering a cleaner environment for all.
