Although ‘quieter’ when compared to the recent mega concerts, the Rhythm School of Music’s ‘Recital cum Annual Concert’ was an enchanting evening that showcased the extraordinary talents of young musicians and featured the virtuoso Jasiel Peter, leaving the audience mesmerized.

The classical musical show brought together around 150 students, with the youngest one as young as 4-year-old, who showcased their mastery over instruments like the violin, piano, guitar, ukulele, and percussion. Rhythm School of Music’s founder, Tito Sangma, expressed his pride in the students, stating, “The annual concert gives an opportunity for the students to showcase what they have learned in the school. It also empowers the children to perform on the stage, which boost their morale and confidence”.

The students, grouped into ensembles, performed various musical genres to create a symphony that reflected both the students’ skills and their passion for music. One of the evening’s standout performances was a stunning instrumental rendition of the ‘Game of Thrones’ original soundtrack, performed by a collaborative ensemble of violin, keyboard, guitar, and drums.

The highlight of the show was undoubtedly the stellar performance by Jasiel Peter, a violin ATCL and double bass FTCL. An alumnus of the prestigious Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, Jasiel brought his expertise to the stage with outstanding renditions, including Michael Jackson’s ‘Smooth Criminal’, leaving the audience speechless and in awe.
