Tura, April 14: ‘Ring•Ambi Ring•Atchu’, a collection of Garo folk songs, was launched in Tura on Monday.
The book was released by Basan R. Marak, Assistant Professor at Tura Christian College, during a launch ceremony held at NM Complex Hall, Upper Chandmari Road in Tura. The event was attended by prominent writers from Tura, along with friends and well-wishers of the author.

Authored by Webster A. Momin, a retired Deputy Inspector of Schools, the book is a collection of 44 traditional Garo songs made accessible to the young masses with staff notations, tonic solfa and guitar chords.

The book not only makes traditional A•chik folk songs accessible and easy to learn for people, but it also aims to preserve the cultural significance of the tunes for the generations to come.
“Dimdim Dimchong”, “Ang’ Atchiram A•songtang” and “Garo Hills Will Shine”, are some of the popular folk songs included in the book.
