Nongpoh, Aug 25: A petrol pump at Umran Dairy in Niangbyrnai village in Ri Bhoi district along the National Highway 6 (NH 6) was robbed by four unidentified robbers at around 5:00 AM on Sunday.
According to the FIR, the manager of the petrol pump was preparing to open the station when the incident happened. The robbers forcibly restrained the manager and several employees, tied their hands and feet before proceeding to loot the establishment.
In a desperate attempt to defend himself and his colleagues, the manager sustained injuries, including a deep cut to his hand inflicted by a sharp weapon.
According to the manager, the criminals fled off with the petrol sales of Rs. 4,24,614 from August 23 to 24.
Ri Bhoi District police have registered a case and launched an investigation and are currently searching for any potential leads from CCTV footages.
