Robin Hibu, first IPS officer from Arunachal Pradesh Promoted to DGP Rank

New Delhi, June 8: In a remarkable feat, Robin Hibu, a renowned IPS officer (AGMUT cadre) from Arunachal Pradesh, who is serving as Special Commissioner of Delhi Police, has been promoted to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP) by the central government.

He is the first IPS officer from Arunachal Pradesh to be promoted to DGP rank.

Hibu is a renowned Indian Police Service (IPS) officer known for his tireless efforts in serving the people of the Northeastern region of India, especially in the national capital.

Born on July 1, 1968, in the small village of Hong in Ziro Valley, Arunachal Pradesh, Hibu is presently serving as Special Commissioner of Delhi Police.

He joined the IPS in 1993 and is the first IPS officer from Arunachal Pradesh. He has held various positions throughout his career, including Special Commissioner of Police at Delhi Armed Police, Chief Security Officer at Rastrapati Bhavan, and Managing Director at Delhi Police Housing Corporation.

Hibu is also the founder of the non-profit organization “Helping Hands,” which provides support to Northeastern citizens in distress.
