Shillong, July 24: The North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) is in bad light over the allegations raised by the family and friends of a young patient who died while undergoing treatment following an accident at Damsite at around 11 AM on Sunday.

According to the family members and friends, after the accident the youth was taken to the NEIGRIHMS hospital via an ambulance at around 11:30 am and reached the hospital at around 12:30 pm. As per their narration, the youth was still alive and well but sustained major injuries in his legs.

The hospital staff at first announced that the boy was dead but after few minutes, they again said that he is alive, but later he was once again he was pronounced dead. This has angered the family and friends of the boy.

According to them, there were no doctors available till 4 pm. No Medical professional attended the injured boy for almost 5 hours leading to the death of the boy, alleged the family and friends.

After the hospital authority pronounced dead, led to relatives quarrelling with hospital staffs and security on duty.
