Gangtok, Sept 16: After an exhaustive 19-day search, two missing students from Sikkim, Paljor Tamang and Devraj Subba, who had been studying at Pranami Global School in Jamnagar, Gujarat, were finally traced to Rewari, Haryana, located roughly 100 kilometers from Delhi.
The teenagers, who had disappeared on August 28, had initially run away from school along with a third student from Nepal. “Extensive searches were conducted in Gujarat initially, and later it was discovered that they had boarded the Okha Jaipur train,” stated a police official.
The trio was finally located in Rewari, Haryana, where they were employed as cleaning staff in a local hotel.
On September 6, a police team had arrived in Delhi and began scrutinizing CCTV footage from various potential railway stations. The students were suspected to have boarded the Sultanpur Weekly Express bound for Delhi.
Over the following 10 days, both Gujarat and Delhi police collaborated in an extensive search, meticulously examining CCTV footage from numerous locations linking Delhi to Jaipur, as well as Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh, where the students were believed to be headed.
Following their discovery by a 15-member police team from Gujarat, the students were brought to Sikkim House in New Delhi. From there, they were promptly escorted back to Jamnagar, Gujarat, on Friday.
Rather than being directly reunited with their parents, they were taken back to Jamnagar, where the initial missing persons case was registered.
