Tura, Jan 14: Rymbai Shkenshynriah SC triumphed over Chipakkore FC in the Meghalaya State League (MSL) Quarterfinal on Tuesday, held at the P.A. Sangma Stadium in Tura.
After a tightly contested goalless first half, the match came to life in the second half. Hesmiki Rymbai broke the deadlock for Rymbai Shkenshynriah SC in the 68th minute, followed by a decisive strike from Iaishah Bareh in the 79th minute. The two goals proved enough to secure Rymbai Shkenshynriah SC’s place in the semi-finals of the prestigious tournament.
The game saw its share of discipline challenges, with four players receiving yellow cards. Sumarbha Bareh and Shepherd Lyngdoh of Rymbai Shkenshynriah SC were cautioned in the 12th and 68th minutes, respectively.
Meanwhile, Chigrikbidasal S. Sangma and Pobitro Rabha of Chipakkore FC were booked in the 28th and 87th minutes.
Hesmiki Rymbai was awarded the Player of the Match award for his outstanding performance.
