Jowai, Dec 10: Meghalaya Education Minister and MLA of Amlarem Constituency, Lahkmen Rymbui, on Friday laid four foundation stones for the construction of new school building of Shkenpyrsit RMSA Secondary School, Madantyrpait Govt. LP School and Mupyut Govt. LP School and also for the construction of Mupyut Water Supply Scheme at a function organised at Mupyut, West Jaiñtia Hills.

The Mupyut Water Supply Scheme will be constructed at the estimated cost of Rs. 7.46 Crores and the work is expected to be completed within 6 months which will provide Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) to 412 households of the village.
The construction of the Shkenpyrsit RMSA will be at the cost of Rs. 1,27,68,000, Madantyrpait Govt. LP School at Rs. 37 Lakhs while Mupyut Govt. LP School too at Rs 37 Lakhs and the construction is expected to be completed by October 2022.
Lahkmen Rymbui said the government and the Departments concerned will ensure that all four projects will be completed by October 2022 and that these are projects that the people of these villages have long dreamt of. He said that the Government, under the leadership of Conrad Sangma, has decided to take up issues which matter the most, which include Health, Education and employment, because of which the state is witnessing an all round development.
Addressing the function Addl. Chief Secretary DP Wahlang said this is the first time in his 30 years of service that in a single function four foundation stones were laid.

He further informed that the school buildings that will be constructed are strong and designed as per the new generation and urged upon the students, teachers and village elders of take good care of the school buildings.
